Timo Boll
The Art of Table Tennis

A series of hand-carved rackets celebrates the most significant moments of his sporting career.

The project was brought to life in collaboration with his long-time sponsor Butterfly and the TTBL, as an expression of gratitude for decades of partnership. Each motif has been meticulously carved into the wooden surface using traditional techniques. Every racket is one-of-a-kind, immortalizing a defining moment in Timo Boll’s career. The rackets were presented to Timo Boll during his final official match.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the journey I’ve been able to take, with all its highs and lows,” said Timo Boll at the presentation. “These rackets aren’t just made of wood—they’re filled with passion, sweat, and countless memories. It’s a very emotional moment for me.”

From September 10 to 14, 2025, the artworks will go on public display under the title “Timo Boll – The Art of Table Tennis” as part of Berlin Art Week.

A special collection of hand-printed T-shirts and art prints will also be available. Proceeds from the exhibition and sales will be donated to charitable causes.

After nearly three decades at the pinnacle of world table tennis, Timo Boll is officially bringing his active career to a close this Sunday, June 15, at the Bundesliga final in Frankfurt. Wearing the jersey of Borussia Düsseldorf, he will step into the arena one last time, facing TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen in front of around 4,000 spectators.

As a tribute to his extraordinary sporting journey, a unique art project has been created to capture key moments from his career in a very special way: a collection of hand-crafted rackets featuring linocut designs that trace his path through almost 30 years of elite competition from his early days to the world stage.
